2013 Acura ILX – 2012 Chicago Auto Show

2013 Acura ILX – 2012 Chicago Auto Show

2012 Chicago Auto Show
Overshadowed at the Detroit Show by the NSX was Acura’s new ILX 4-door sedan. Where Acura’s TSX is based on an Accord platform, the ILX has underpinnings from the small-car basis for the Honda Civic.
If you like Acura’s current nose design, you’ll like the ILX, which has a strong face. In back it’s not quite as aggressive and versions we’ve seen beg for larger wheels for added presence.

Inside you’ll recognize the Honda-philosophy center stack in a layout that is evolutionary for the company. The interior is surprisingly roomy given the ILX’s exterior size.
Powertrains for the front-drive sedan will include a 2.0-liter four at 150 bhp, a 201-bhp 2.4-liter and, not surprisingly, a hybrid version said to get 35 mpg city/38 mpg highway.
Opening price will be just under $30,000 when the ILX goes on sale in the spring.
