Pininfarina Cambiano Concept – 2012 Geneva Auto Show

Pininfarina Cambiano Concept - 2012 Geneva Auto Show
Pininfarina is using Facebook to tease us with images of the design house’s next concept, set to debut on March 6, 2012 during the Geneva Auto Show. The Pininfarina Cambiano is “an elegant and refined sport sedan,” according to the company’s press release, with special attention paid to the car’s environmental impact. Expect the powertrain to be some variation of a hybrid or fully electric.
The past few years have not been easy for Pininfarina. Despite a long and storied history, the Italian design house has recently been forced to dramatically streamline its operations. A renewed focus on design – rather than serial production – has had mixed results. During last year’s Geneva show, the Pininfarina De Tomaso Deauville Concept (also a high-end sedan) was met with tepid praise.
Judging from the lone headlight and hint of front grille, the Cambiano appears to be pushing the envelope more than the Deauville’s overly safe styling.
Pininfarina has promised to release more images via its Facebook page ahead of the Cambiano’s unveiling in Geneva.
