Chevrolet, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Company (GM), is one of the most acknowledged car markers across the world. Known as 'Chevy', this automobile giant is well known for its fleet of passenger cars and medium-duty commercial trucks. Chevrolet Orlando, a five-door multi-purpose vehicle, was introduced for the first time as concept vehicle at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. However, Orlando production got delayed due to some internal reasons. The upcoming Chevrolet Orlando is being produced in Kunsan plant (Korea) of General Motors. Official sources have confirmed that Orlando will be launched in India after its introduction in European markets. 
The seven-seater concept version is designed on the Chevrolet Cruze platform. In India, it is expected to replace Chevrolet Tavera, which is already discontinued from BS III cities of India. The spacious Chevrolet Orlando will contend with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and upcoming Maruti Ertiga. It can be expected that it will fall under the price bracket of Rs. 9 Lacs to Rs. 11 Lacs.
 The multi-purpose utility concept provides a glimpse of European designs, with its low roofline and crossover built. Front end of the MPV features a split radiator grille bagging Chevrolet badge. It boasts of 7 seats in three rows, 6 safety airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC) and centre console storage with 2 cup holders. Apart from that, it is also known for its height-adjustable driver’s seat, low flat loading space and multiple storage options.

Engines & Specifications of Chevrolet Orlando 
Upcoming multi-purpose vehicle from Chevrolet comes loaded with 1.8 L petrol mill and a 2.0 L diesel powertrain. The petrol engine delivers maximum 141 bhp power, whereas the diesel engine has capability to produce power of 131 bhp. In Europe, there are four variants of Chevrolet Orlando, which include 1.8 L petrol, MT 2.0 L diesel MT, 2.0 L diesel AT and 2.0 L diesel Detuned MT. On the other hand, 2.4 L inline-4 engine will power the vehicle bound for the Canadian market.

Performance of Chevrolet Orlando 
Chevrolet Orlando, loaded with high-revving 1.8 L petrol engine and 2.0 L diesel engine, delivers streamlined on-road performance. It will be available with 5-speed manual, 6-speed and 6-speed automatic transmission mechanism, which enable smooth and convenient drive. Easy handling of the car is the defining characteristic of Chevrolet Orlando. Its petrol engine races from 0 to 100 kmph in 11.6 seconds and ensures top speed of 185 kmph. On the other hand, the 2.0 L diesel engine accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 10 seconds and renders maximum speed of 195 kmph.

Exterior, Interior & Safety Features of Chevrolet Orlando 
The front end of Chevrolet Orlando appears like a European crossover that features Chevrolet's trademark 'bow-tie' badge. This MPV is adorned with sweeping headlamps, wraparound tail lights and flared fender lines. Some other notable exterior components are body colour stylish rear view mirrors / door handles, detailed tail lamps, full-length glass-roof and twin chrome finished exhaust system. 
Interiors of Chevrolet Orlando are as appealing as its exteriors in dual cockpit design theme. Dashboard has a fine dual tone wrapping, while its instrument panel is illuminated with ice-blue theme. Among other noteworthy interior components are twin AC vents, central console, modern audio system and three-spoke steering wheel featuring audio controls. Along with spacious three seat rows in Chevrolet Orlando, ample boot space is available in the car. 
Chevrolet Orlando is built using ultra high tensile strength steel to ensure safety of occupants during collisions. Moreover, special protection is provided for areas such as side pillars and fuel tank with sturdy casing, while crash boxes and crumple zones use soft aluminium. Electronic Stability Control, Park assist, Child seat 'Duo Plus', Baby seat 'Baby Safe Plus', ISOFIX base for 'Baby Safe Plus' are some of the highlighting safety features.
