Smart pickup truck? Yes, you read that right. Making its debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show is the For-Us from Smart, a tiny pickup concept made for urban environments…meaning this truck isn’t for agrarian types. Good luck fitting livestock in the 3-foot cargo area.

As small as it is, the For-Us has a 97.7-in. wheelbase and 139.6-in. overall length, gains of about 2 ft. and 3 ft., respectively. The track is 2 in. wider than its older Smart brother.
An all-electric concept, the For-Us is powered by a 55-kw magneto-electric motor. With 96 lb.-ft. of torque, the Smart pickup has a top speed of 80 mph. Its lithium-ion battery is said to take eight hours to charge.

While Farmer John may not appreciate its utility, he might be impressed by the range-extending bicycles. The Smart For-Us Concept comes equipped with a built-in docking station that can charge two electric bikes. Equipped with a 250-watt motor, the 2-wheel mode of transportation can last for up to 60 miles on its battery—sufficient range to find a spare electrical outlet. Extra long extension cord notwithstanding, of course.
